Thirty-six states hold gubernatorial elections in 2026. At least eighteen will seat a new governor. A small, working gathering of state leaders, technology and data practitioners, and funders: convened at the crossroads where the rails once connected a country, to talk about the crossroads states stand at now.

Crossroads of the West.
Salt Lake City has called itself the Crossroads of the West since the rails met here. Our event hotel, the Asher Adams, is the restored 1909 Union Pacific Depot — the point where a nation’s infrastructure once converged to deliver on our immense possibilities.
Talented people with new technology are reshaping what states can do at the same speed the railroad once reshaped what the country could do, and the decisions made in the next few years will set the course for a generation. So we’re gathering the people who will set it at this same crossroads: built deliberately, by the right people, arriving in the same place together.

Downtown sits around 4,300 feet and the air is dry — drink more water than feels necessary. October runs about 66°F by day and 44°F at night, and the first frost usually lands this month. Bring layers and a jacket for the evening walk to dinner.

The Utah State Capitol is a short ride north of downtown, free and open to the public on weekdays. Temple Square and City Creek sit a few blocks east of Pierpont Place.
Do
Early October is peak fall color in the Wasatch: Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons are 30–45 minutes from the hotel. If you have a free morning, Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake is about an hour north.
